Other members of the England team also thanked the NHS for their hard work at this troubling time for the World.

Owen Farrell was particularly grateful to many of the NHS nurses that put their lives at risk every day.

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is facing revenue losses in the region of £45-50million over the next 18 months as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I want to send a message to all the rugby community in England. It’s obviously a difficult time at the moment but the rugby clubs are such an important part of life that it is important that the clubs keep maintaining their responsibility in the community.

“Rugby has always been a game about teamwork and at the moment teamwork is so important for the nation. So make sure you keep your discipline up, follow the head coach which at the moment is Boris Johnson, so keep your discipline, keep your social distance, for the players keep working on your game.

“You can still improve your game at this time. You can set up a gym at home, you can some training in the back yard, you can practice your skills, get your patents to help you.
