Future France hooker shows why he could be a world beater

Pau’s Rayne Barka is not a household name in European or even French rugby yet, but the hooker gave a glimpse of what he is capable of recently in the Supersevens in France.

The former France under-20 World Cup winner showed some searing pace for Pau in the sevens recently, scoring a try from his own 22. Few hookers play sevens for obvious reasons and even fewer would be able to exhibit gas like this.

Barka will be competing with Lucas Rey, Quentin Lespiaucq and Youri Delhommel for the No2 shirt at Pau before he even thinks about impressing Fabien Galthie, but a player with pace like this will always be an asset, particularly from the bench. Then again, Les Bleus are well stocked with hookers at the moment with Julien Marchand, Camille Chat, Pierre Bourgarit and Peato Maukava to name a few.

All hookers in France have their strengths but none can rival Barka for pace like this.
