Andy Farrell doesn’t hold back as he savages Ireland in extreme tirade
You’d think that after going two from two in the Autumn Nations Series, including a win over the world champions South Africa, Ireland head coach Andy Farrell would be quite happy. But that was far from the truth after his side triumphed over Fiji 35-17 in Dublin on Saturday.
Playing against a 14-man Fiji for most of the second half following Albert Tuisue’s shocking red card, and at times against 13 players, Ireland could just not get flowing, and despite the win, Farrell described his side as “awful”.
Farrell was not afraid to speak his mind after the match, accusing Ireland of sloppiness. It was a two minute assault of his side, which was much changed after the win over South Africa last week. Plenty of the big guns will probably return to the squad ahead of the visit from Australia next week, who will be looking to bounce back after a historic loss to Italy today.
