Fans amazed as front row forward goes on 50m rampage through entire opposition team

A hooker for Wellington in the Mitre 10 Cup has just amazed rugby fans around the country with his barnstorming 50 metre run from halfway.

The front-rower is called Tyrone Thompson and he was pictured making the crazy run on Friday as his team took on Bay of Plenty. This was just one of the sensational tries which were on display in this match.

Fan were going crazy on social media over the run, by a hooker, who is not expected to be the fastest player on the pitch!

Check out this incredible try-scoring run from the front row, we are seeing more and more of this in rugby as forwards become more agile and lean!

If Otago are to have any chance of bringing the Ranfurly Shield back to Dunedin this weekend, it would be hard to imagine the province’s electric back three not playing a big role in making that happen.

Both players made life tough for the Turbos defence, with the latter bagging a brace of tries in what was a man-of-the-match performance, but it could be the efforts of their less heralded teammate that may prove to be just as valuable.
