SHOCKING: Kieran Read brazenly disregards direct order from Wayne Barnes

When you captain a team of the magnitude of the All Blacks, there comes with it a massive responsibility.

People view you as a role model, and in a sport like rugby, where respecting the ref the paramount, it is crucial that the captain of the best team in the world does justice to the spirit of the sport.

Kieran Read however has let himself down here. After a bit of a jostling between players, top ref Wayne Barnes asks Read and Hooper to go and ‘talk’ to their players – saying “you’re role models for the game”.

Hooper, being a diligent captain does so. Read however appears to disregard the direct command, as the commentators bravely point out.
