The revolting Siya Kolisi moment that should have had him banned for the series
Earlier this week, Rassie Erasmus laid out a one hour rant on 26 different refereeing decisions that he felt went against his Springbok side. He missed out this absolute howler from his captain Siya Kolisi.
In the 74th minute of play – with the game getting away from the South Africans, they effectively put the rules of the game to one side.
This was a truly shocking moment from the Springbok 6.
We see as the Lions are working their way into the Lions half with the clock winding down.
What followed was missed completely by the officials.

This incident didn’t seem to make it into Rassie Erasmus’s video.
Running through the Head Contact Process:
Head contact – yes.
Foul play – yes.
Degree of danger – high.
Mitigation – none.
Sanction – red card.
RC of this nature would also lead to a minimum 3 week ban. pic.twitter.com/cMmJ8LIQHF

We see as Kolisi slams into the back of Maro Itoje’s head as he stands by the side of the ruck.
This surely was a red card offence? Why did you not mention this, Rassie?
