WATCH: Romain Poite dramatically overrules TMO’s decision to award Leinster a try against Exter
Devin Tonner appeared to cross the line for Leinster and as Romain Poite went upstairs to his TMO, it all seemed like a bit of a formality.
After viewing the replays the TMO is clearly heard saying “for me you may award the try,” to which Poite replies, “did you see clearly the grounding?”
After a short silence the TMO replies “no,” Poite then over rules him and walks off delighted his knowledge of the rule book and for publicly humiliating the TMO.
It was all a bit awkward really.
