This was a truly shocking tackle.

What is it with these high tackles in this tournament. It seems like nobody is safe. It will be interesting to see if these tackles have an affect on the officiating of the World Cup, because we’re going to see a lot of injuries and tackles at this rate if they do not act quick.

No surprises that the All Blacks were involved here in this tackle.

In other news: Franklin Gardens to host Premiership Sevens again

PREMIERSHIP RUGBY can confirm that 7s rugby returns to Franklin’s Gardens again this summer as the home of Northampton Saints plays host to the Premiership Rugby 7s for the third year running.

Chosen as the venue for the ‘Olympic-style’ version of the tournament for the last two seasons, Franklin’s Gardens will once again become the backdrop for the tournament on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 of September.

All 12 Premiership Rugby sides will face off over two days of competition in Northampton – with big hits, slick offloads and lightning-fast pace all guaranteed as the next generation of stars compete for the title.

Fixtures for the Premiership Rugby 7s will be announced at noon on Monday 15 July via www.premiershiprugby.com and @premrugby

Rugby won’t be the only attraction over the weekend with the Gardens becoming a hub of activity, opening its gates from 5pm until 10pm on the Friday and 1.30pm until 7pm on the Saturday.
