WATCH: Controversy escalating as footage of Vermeulen communicating using a mic causing stir
Surely this isn’t allowed?
On Saturday, cameras picked up Duane Vermeulen speaking to what we can only assume was Rassie Erasmus on a microphone. We can also assume that they were discussing tactics on the field.
The lawbook says that players aren’t allowed to wear communication devices. I’d imagine there is a regulation about them not being allowed to use them as well. Would this be breaking protocol?
Taking the “get a message onto the field” a bit far. Surely not allowed @brettgosper @WorldRugby #WALvSA #mic #whiskytangofoxtrot #OVER pic.twitter.com/hHHKonYizr

This could just be a one-off but surely this kind of thing can’t happen in the future if this is breaking a rule.
