Chris Ashton sensationally calls out Irish winger James Lowe after his performance against England
Former England winger Chris Ashton has sensationally called out new Irish player James Lowe for being too slow and heavy in a podcast for the BBC this week.
Chris Ashton, who made a name for himself in world rugby for his supreme speed and pace on the ball, had some choice words to say about the Kiwi as he made his debut for the men in green last weekend.
England ruthlessly beat the Irish last weekend in Twickenham, after a ferocious defensive display against the Irish, many have said that England could be considered the best team in the world after the performance.

Ashton appeared on the BBC Rugby Union weekly podcast yesterday, and straight from the off he spoke about the lack of speed that James Lowe had in the match, compared to the likes of Jonny May.
He was not happy with how Lowe failed to make the yards across to pitch to stop Jonny May scoring that wonder try.
“If I was Jame Lowe for the Ireland team, when Jonny May shanks that kick across the pitch is to go and get that ball, where was James Lowe? He’s too big, he’s like a tractor mate turning. I watched him during the game, he is, too big, too heavy, too slow!”

At first, we thought, surely he is just being harsh here on the man, but when you look at the facts, it is actually quite fair what he is saying.
The man weighs 107kg and he is only 6’1! That is a lot of weight to be carrying for that size.
Then when you look at the replay of Jonny May’s sensational try, try and spot Lowe on the bottom of your screen. He looks like he is trundling and making no effort to catch May.
Pretty damning!
