New Zealand rugby players can’t help but heap praise on England rugby in rare video

A crop of New Zealand rugby players couldn’t help but heap praise on England rugby this week after their dominant defensive display against Ireland in the Autumn Nations Cup.

The Aotearoa Podcast in New Zealand has proved very popular of late, with many rugby fans tuning in from both Hemispheres to get their rugby fix.

The All Blacks could be seen training this week as they prepare to take on Argentina in the 2020 Tri Nations.

One thing that did surprise many rugby fans, however, was their generous praise which they gave to the England rugby team this week for their monumental defensive effort against the Irish.

England rugby put in a crazy defensive performance last weekend. Something which we are sure New Zealand would have been watching closely to see where their opponents England are at.

The impressively knowledgable panel on the show includes Ross Karl, James Parsons and Bryn Hall. Two of those have competed at the very highest level of domestic rugby in New Zealand.

They went into high detail talking about just how influential certain players in the England team were. Players like Kyle Sinckler, Maro Itoje and Owen Farrell were singled out for the effect that they can have on a rugby match.

Listen here as they brilliantly talk about why England are one of the best teams in World Rugby right now.

Fans on reddit were raving aboy England and the pundits. In New Zealand it is sometimes rare for the country to praise other countries too highly, so this was a big deal all in all.

Jack Bristol – Did a Kiwi just say England are good at pushing the boundaries of the laws?!!

RumpyStumpy – Great to listen to some outside informed analysis on England. Now someone call me an arrogant wanker before I get a nose bleed.

Bobthe4th_82 – Their comments on Sinckler and George’s handling abilities is spot on – it’s sometimes overshadowed by our defensive skills and kicking game that most of our players have top level offloading skills too.

Jerome_Kaino – James Parsons is an excellent pundit, he seems to understand the game really well. Think he will only get better when he eventually retires as he’s biased towards his Blues mates now.
