Faf de Klerk cannot handle Kwagga Smith in epic battle of the Boks

Faf ke Klerk’s form in Japan Rugby League One currently is something to behold with the Yokohama Canon Eagles, and he was red hot in the first at the weekend against the Shizuoka Blue Revs.

The South Africa No9 was playing at an electric pace that his opponents could not keep up with. He was darting about everywhere, and that included a run where his Springboks teammate Kwagga Smith completely sold a dummy as the Canon Eagles raced to a 15-3 lead. But Smith bounced back.

Just before half time, the Bok loose forward produced a rampaging run to the line where de Klerk was left desperately trying to hold onto his shirt while getting dragged along the ground. His grip gave out, and Smith went over for the try.

The No8 was at it again in the second half, with his second try of the match and what looked to be the match winner. The Canon Eagles did bounce back though, as the match finished 22-22, only made better by the Bok on Bok subplot.
