FOOTAGE: Ref ignores All Blacks yellow/red card offences just minutes after binning Frenchman for much less
Luke Pearse is a very good ref, but he’s had a shocker.
Firstly he yellow cards Paul Gabrillagues for at most a penalty, a decision that saw NZ scores two tries in quick succession. A few minute later Sam Cane and Ofa Tuungafasi both smash Remy Gross in the head – one with the shoulder and other with a swinging arm.
The fact that they injured themselves is irrelevant. It’s a yellow/red for both…oh, wait, it’s the All Blacks and it’s Eden Park.
Not quite sure why this was just a penalty. Yes, ref made a call, keeps the game flowing etc.. but with a natural break in play (treatment to head of French player) and TMO available, why not use it? #NZLvFRA @FFRugby @AllBlacks @SkySportsRugby pic.twitter.com/uf1tmEOYcN
