Maro Itoje has officially named his ‘Nigerian British XV’ and it is absolutely stacked
England and Saracens rugby star Maro Itoje has officially named his Nigerian British rugby team on social media and the team is absolutely stacked.
The England International has been ever-more present on social media of late with his podcast ‘Pearl Conversations’ and his posts online have been brilliant.
Today Itoje posted his picks for a possible Nigerian British rugby team consisting of some of the best young talents in English rugby.
Itoje is intensely proud of his Nigerian heritage and he has put himself as captain of the Nigerian British XV that he has made.
The team that Itoje picked consists of the likes of Max Ojomoh from Bath and Nick Isikewe from Saracens.
Above the post, Itoje said…
It’s been a tough and rigorous process but I have come down to my final Nigerian British XV of current players. A good blend of experience and youth. Congratulations to all those selected.

England teammate Danny Care have Itoje some abuse for picking himself as captain saying, “Self appointed captaincy…I like it”.
Would this team be any good?
Some of the top players in the UK feature in this team, however, it is certainly still very raw.
