Ex Wallaby’s hilarious response to ex All Black’s bizarre Ardie Savea claim

As far as calls go, Jeff Wilson’s call to bench Ardie Savea for the All Blacks in order to have a more physically dominant back row is a bold one.

What they will gain in physicality by playing a specialist No8 in Luke Jacobson, they will lose in being without one of the best players in the world over the last four years- maybe only second to Antoine Dupont. That is what makes it so outrageous, and there appears to be plenty of other people who share that viewpoint.

Former Australia centre Morgan Turinui looks to be one of the many people that are baffled by Wilson’s suggestion, writing on Twitter in response: “Couldn’t agree more for matches July 29 and August 5. Feel free to pick him on other days…”

If you had not guessed, July 29 and August 5 just happen to be the days the Australia and the All Blacks face off in the Bledisloe Cup at the MCG and the Forsyth Barr Stadium, and the thought of the All Blacks being without probably the best player is one that appeals to Turinui and probably Eddie Jones as well.
