Maro Itoje speaks out on James Ryan vs Maro Itoje debate in post match press conference
England rugby lock Maro Itoje has spoken on the James Ryan Maro Itoje debate briefly in the post-match press conference after England’s solid win over Ireland.
There is much debate in the rugby world about James Ryan and Maro Itoje, with many seeing them as the pairing to play for the Lions in next year’s tour of South Africa.
This rivalry has brought around the question about who is indeed the better lock?
Today many feel Itoje answered that question, dominating James Ryan in the match.
Maro Itoje was crowned the official man-of-the-match in England’s win over Ireland in the Pool A clash of the Autumn Nations Cup, after an outstanding display by the second-rower at Twickenham.
The 26-year-old made a nuisance of himself at line out and at the breakdown, disrupting Ireland’s attack while punishing them behind the gain line with dominant hits, delivering the type of performance he is renown for.
Many fans began calling out the Irish for hyping up James Ryan to a similar level as that of Itoje.
The audacity of the Irish calling James Ryan as good as Itoje. Itoje teaching him how a lock plays today

Itoje himself had his own view on the subject.
When a reporter asked him, how does it feel to play like that against players like James Ryan, the 26-year-old has his own thoughts on the matter.
Itoje did not appear to be too interested in discussions about him vs other players, instead he seems to be focused on England.
