RAW RUGBY: Jamie Heaslip career tribute highlights his game-changing abilities at the peak of his powers

Ireland is still recovering from the news that their once impervious number eight is retiring. Jamie Heaslip in his prime was an absolute game-changer on the field with his performance in the Six Nations and for Leinster.

Heaslip had hoped to return from injury in time for the 2019 World Cup in Japan, however he had made the decision to step down for his own well being in the long term.

Heaslip has not played at all  since he suffered an injury to his lower back during the warm-up to the 13-9 win over England in the final game of last year’s Six Nations.

The 34-year-old, who has won 95 caps for Ireland, underwent a second operation on his back in November in a bid to save his career.

Raw Rugby have put together a tribute to some of the best moments during his career, it highlights just how good this man was.

In the video Brian O’Driscoll talks about how he always brought his best to every game he played for Ireland.

We hope you enjoy this highlight video!
