125kg loosehead accidentally launches ball into outer space
With his side already losing 32-3 in the final minutes of the match against the Sharks on Saturday, Bordeaux Begles prop Ugo Boniface did not look best pleased when the ball was fumbled by his teammates in their own 22. From there, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
With the 125kg prop running backwards to collect the bobbling ball, he loaded up and unleashed an absolute howitzer of a kick from his own five metre line. The ball sailed past the Sharks 40 metre line before even bouncing in what was one of the most unexpected monster kicks ever seen.
Unfortunately for Boniface, the ball sat up when it bounced rather that rolling on towards the Sharks’ 22, or even out for a 50:22. If it had gone into touch, it surely would have been the greatest 50:22 ever to be produced.
Take a look at the kick:
It’s a big right leg, with an even right boot ☄️
How are we rating this kick from Ugo Boniface?
And how can @Makazole16 still have that speed after 75 minutes? #HeinekenChampionsCup | @SharksRugby | @UBBrugby pic.twitter.com/8CHNvAHXgt
