Feral front row rips off jersey in frenzied state of confusion and initiates PROP MODE
There are few betters sight in rugby, there are few better sights in sport! A front row that has gone full PROP MODE.
This glorious moment occurred back in 2017 in a Champions Cup match between Saracens and Clermont.
South Africa man and World Cup winner Vincent Koch found himself in a precarious situation in this match as an opposition player yanked his jersey over his head and almost clean off the tighthead props torso.
The Springbok powerhouse had two choices – faff around and struggle to squeeze back into his skin-tight playing top or rip off the jersey to get himself back into the thick of things.
Thankfully for props everywhere, Koch did the honourable thing – flinging his playing shirt over his shoulder and successfully initiating PROP MODE.
Over the course of the next minute, we see the South African enter a full state of frenzy – as he barrels into Clermont’s rolling maul single-handedly halting the march of the French pack sending it crashing down.
Terrified – the Frenchman attempted to attack down the blindside to get as far away from the rabid front-row as possible but their efforts were futile.
We then see Koch bounce up from the pile of bodies in hot pursuit of his next target.
The rampaging tighthead locks onto his next victim throwing all 19 stone of himself into a fleeing flanker and dislodging the ball to win back possession for his side. This made for truly terrifying viewing.
There are few better sights in rugby than this!
God we miss it.
