Faf de Klerk is riled up by angry northerner as brawl breaks out in fiery Gallagher Premiership clash
Faf de Klerk is one the toughest cookies in international rugby but he’s not impervious to the nip and niggle of a Premiership encounter on a cold November night in the North of England.
The World Cup-winning Springbok starred in tonight’s clash between Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks.
The South African scrum-half was not willing to back down in this rip-roaring Northern clash.
On a bitterly cold night at Kingston Park we saw as Sale Sharks travelled to newly-promoted Newcastle Falcons.
The Premiership newcomers made their return to the English top-flight with some familiar faces in their ranks with the likes of Toby Flood and Luther Burrell lining up in their backs.
Sharks, however, are looking to pick up where they left off at the end of the summer after they just missed out on the league play-off’s due to a number of positive Covid-19 cases within the squad.

Sale Shark’s talismanic scrum-half, Faf de Klerk, was in typically spiky form this evening as he clashed with his opposite number.
We see as in the 29th minute of play the Springbok scrum-half puts into the defensive scrum as Sale Sharks look to clear their lines after a sustained period of pressure from Newcastle.
You can see as Newcastle number 9 and the Falcons captain, Michael Young, gets to grips with De Klerk. Much to the dismay of the South African. Watch the tussle in the video below.

We see as Sale Sharks concede the penalty off of the mass-brawl with the visitor’s scrum in tatters.
Young makes a nuisance of himself around the set-piece leading to the Sale scrum-half to jab his elbow out into the skipper’s face. We feel that Faf was lucky here to escape without a yellow or perhaps even a red card!
Newcastle go on to score a try off of the resulting penalty as the Premiership newcomers continue their bright start to this season’s Gallagher Premiership campaign.
