Owen Farrell brutally trolled by bitter rivals Harlequins over tackle technique
It is unlikely Owen Farrell has spent much time online this week as anyone that has the ability to type has joined in on one of the biggest online pile-ons rugby has ever seen.
But if the England captain did dare to venture onto X, he might well have been met by a training video from Saracens’ bitter rivals Harlequins where his dubious tackle technique was the centre of attention. It may just be a coincidence, but Quins were practicing the exact situation Farrell found himself in at Twickenham on Saturday which resulted in him being red carded.
The southwest London side were practicing a situation where one player tackles from behind, like Jamie George, and one player goes high, like Farrell. However, on this occasion there was an attempt to wrap arms in the tackle, as well as bending of the knees and at the hip.
