A compilation of all the Jerome Garces refereeing mistakes in a World Cup game has gone MEGA-viral
When we first watched the All Blacks vs South Africa. We didn’t initially feel that French ref Jerome Garces made that many errors. But after watching this compilation, my oh my were we wrong.
Someone online, who we can only describe as a South Africa fan has made an ‘extensive’ compilation of all the mistakes that Jerome Garces made, and when we watch it, we can’t help but think that this really is awful.
The user aptly named, “Cheating Bstards” uploaded the video on Sunday, and in 2 days the compilation has accumulated well over 200,000 views, with 500 comments. We would give you a peek into the comment section but it’s such a melting pot of toxicity that we refuse to expose you to that level of horror.
This is the video in question, and to be honest, can you really argue with the claims that are made?
Genuinely, how do refs miss this shit?! Right under @AndyGoode10 ‘s best mate Jerome Garces’ nose. Dane Coles using Mr McCaw’s special side entrance.#RWC19 #NZLvRSA pic.twitter.com/AVSvbRpTmz

Two forearms / elbows to the face from Joe Moody in the #NZLvRSA game! I hate seeing this (albeit I’ve delivered a few of these myself) – stupid in this game with all the eyes on it!
What a game though. pic.twitter.com/wIqoxkzRLk— Paul Wright (@paw_1977) September 21, 2019
The compilation is six minutes and twenty seconds long and it makes for awful viewing for French referees, that have long-held an unfavourable reputation for game management.
The video has been shared among many different platforms, mainly on Twitter. We thought it was necessary to share this to Facebook, mainly to see the absolute circus that it will create. We are sure rugby fans from both New Zealand and South Africa will have their own viewpoints on this.
The All Blacks haven’t taken this lying down, making their very own compilation in what seems to be a direct response to this.
We’re just here to report this, but personally all we can say is that this makes for great rugby news.
Thomas du Toit was en route from France to Nagoya, Japan, on Monday after being called up as an injury replacement to the Springbok Rugby World Cup squad.
The 24-yearold Cell C Sharks prop replaces the unfortunate Trevor Nyakane who tore his right calf in the 23-13 defeat by New Zealand in Yokohama on Saturday night.
Du Toit, who was on a short-term loan to Toulouse, was on standby and had been involved in preparations right up until the team’s departure for Japan.
He is expected to join the squad in Nagoya on Tuesday afternoon.
“It’s very tough on Trevor,” said Rassie Erasmus, director of rugby. “He has had a great season and added value whenever he took the field. It’s a blow to him and the team, but it’s also an opportunity for Thomas and for Vincent [Koch] who now have the chance to step up.”
The Springboks continue their Rugby World Cup campaign against neighbours Namibia in Nagoya on Saturday (kick off 11h45 SA time).
