All Blacks props gearing up for Boks clash with squat-off in the gym
There is no better way for a prop to prepare for the physical challenge that is coming from the Springboks than getting in the gym and squatting.
So with under four weeks until the All Blacks face the world champions South Africa in the Rugby Championship, Joe Moody, Karl Tu’inukuafe, Nepo Laulala and George Bower have been stationed at the squat rack having what looks to have been a competition.
The All Blacks shared on social media the props progressively lifting more weight, with both Moody and Bower working up to 210kgs. With the Wallabies waiting for them this Sunday in the third Bledisloe Cup Test, the players will not be going all out in the gym this week, but it looks as though they had plenty more reps and kgs in the tank.

Ian Foster’s side still have this weekend’s contest with Australia and back to back matches with Argentina before their double header with the Springboks. But with many expecting the Boks to dominate up front, the All Blacks are clearly ensuring they are in the best physical shape possible to face that challenge head on.
Fans may need to wait until the off season to see who the outright winner of this squat-off is though.
