Anglo-Australian relations at new low as NRL team savagely troll England cricket

The relationship between England and Australia is always a tetchy one in any sport, but it grew infinitely worse this last week in the Ashes.

Without getting too technical, the ‘spirit of the game’ was brought into question after Australia wicket keeper Alex Carey stumped England batter Jonny Bairstow, who left his crease believing it was the end of the over at Lord’s. Since then, ties between the two sporting Nations have become severed even further.

Well NRL outfit the Canberra Raiders thought they would get in on the action this week when playing the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Following an early try to Jordan Rapana, the Raiders celebrated the try be recreating that infamous moment at Lord’s, using the corner flag as the stumps. They even used an England international, Elliott Whitehead, to play the role of Bairstow. It is a genius try celebration, but maybe not if you are from England.
