Beauden Barrett left to cower in embarrassment after Dan Carter’s latest video

Beauden Barrett’s goal kicking struggles have been well documented this season. In fact, they have been well documented his entire career.

The two time World Rugby player of the year does not have many weaknesses, but his place kicking is probably one of them.

Whether it is because his All Blacks competitor Richie Mo’unga shades him in that department, or because he inherited the All Blacks No10 jersey from the highest points scorer of all time in Dan Carter, his kicking has always been under the spotlight.

To make matters worse for him, Carter recently shared a video of what a kicker he still is.

The legendary All Black posted a video on Instagram of himself nailing a left touchline kick over the posts. To make the kick even more impressive, he did it just 30 seconds after running a bronco.

The only solace that Barrett can take is that his bronco time is far better than Carter’s time of 4:55. It has been reported that the Blues back has produced a 4:12 bronco time, which is not only the best for an All Black, but on of the very best times in professional rugby.

Then again, Carter’s sub five minute time is not too bad for a player that has now been retired for two years, particularly as he said he was “not that fit at the moment.”

But Barrett’s kicking could be the deciding factor as to who starts at No10 for the All Blacks this year.

Take a look at Carter’s video:
