Christian Wade is back and scored on his Racing debut

Christian Wade marked his return to rugby union this weekend by doing what he does best, scoring tries.

The Gallagher Premiership’s all-time fourth highest try scorer signed for the Parisian outfit three weeks ago after representing them in an In Extenso SuperSevens event in August, having spent three seasons in the NFL in the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad.

It took the one-cap England winger barely any time to return to his old ways on Saturday, as he ran over the whitewash at La Defense Arena for what is likely to be the first of many this season.

The try was maybe not vintage Christian Wade, as he took advantage of Pau’s Clément Mondinat fumbling a Finn Russell cross field kick to run in unopposed on 66 minutes. The hosts were leading 12-6 at that point, so the try helped them pull away and eventually win 26-13.
