Is Jack Nowell going to sue the RFU?
Former England rugby player Jack Nowell has once again sparked amusement and curiosity among rugby fans after he playfully hinted at potential litigation by quoting a tweet from none other than tech billionaire Elon Musk.
It’s not the first time Nowell has made headlines for his social media antics, as he previously landed himself in hot water with a £10,000 fine and a refereeing course for criticizing a referee’s decision on Twitter.
In his latest escapade, Nowell quoted Musk’s tweet, where the tech mogul offered to fund the legal bills of those who faced unfair treatment from their employers due to their social media activities. “If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill. No limit. Please let us know,” wrote Musk.
Nowell’s response? A simple “interesting.”
It’s unlikely Nowell is seriously considering taking legal action against his former pay-masters. It’s more likely he was just being playful and cheeky. Nonetheless, it’s amusing to see how he continues to make waves on social media.
The fine imposed on Nowell last year might have left a lasting impression, considering he eventually made the decision to leave England and Exeter Chiefs to join La Rochelle. One can’t help but wonder if the financial penalty played any role in influencing his thinking.
Whatever the case may be, Jack Nowell’s social media antics remain a source of entertainment for rugby fans, and it’s safe to say we can expect more humorous and intriguing moments from him in the future.
