Legendary pitch invader was unstoppable against security team
France’s ProD2 seems to be rugby’s greatest source of weird and wacky moments, and Friday proved to be no different as Aurillac hosted Biarritz at the Stade Jean Alric.
That is because a pitch invader stole the show when he stormed his way onto the turf. Fortunately for everyone watching, the invader was clothed. And by clothed, he had some sort of curtain wrapped around himself that he tried to take off.
The invader was seen hugging Aurillac players, and even shining one player’s boots, before the security team tried to usher him off the field. Then he suddenly became prime Jonah Lomu, handing off one particular member of the security team on multiple occasions. The streaker was pretty robust to begin with, and combined with this steward wearing inappropriate footwear, it made it a fairly uneven contest.
This was all part of the show as Aurillac came away 38-12 winners.
