Parent sparks all out brawl in South African school game

The outrageous moment a parent sparked a brawl amongst a group of under 16 rugby players in Durban has been captured and shared online.

The incident happened in a match between Northwood and Kearnsey and saw a parent storm onto the pitch and start manhandling the players.

It was shared on Twitter alongside this caption: “U16 Northwood parent who apparently thought his sons team was cheated causes a massive brawl at Kearsney college today. It’s schoolboy rugby folks, don’t take it so seriously…”

Here are some of the comments on Twitter: “WTF! Unacceptable behavior from a parent. But what was the no3 up to with the referee? Seems like he confronted the ref that sparked the altercation?”

“Shocking…. Hopefully the parent has been banned from all school rugby events…”

“It’s a school game. A game. Not the World Cup and even then unacceptable.”

“That parent should not be allowed anywhere near a rugby field again…”

“Hmmm Durban Magistrates Court bout to be lit on Tuesday.”
