The epic league-winning extra time try everyone should be talking about

With the season drawing to a close in the northern hemisphere, there are plenty of finals being played at the moment, one of which was Spain’s on Saturday.

The final of the División de Honor de Rugby saw Valladolid beat Recoletas UBU Burgos in epic fashion 40-34.

The two sides had to battle it out over 100 minutes though, as the game was forced to extra time. That simply provided winger Miguel Lainz the chance to win the match in the most dramatic style possible.

After receiving the ball on his own 22, the winger went on to produce a winding run to the try line, beating seven players in the process. It was an incredible run, and made all the more impressive by the fact that it was made in the 93rd minute of the match. That is some engine he has.

Valladolid held a slender two point lead at that point, but Lainz’s try put the game out of reach.
