Ultimate Honey Badger copy-cat lifts Brumbies to Super Rugby summit
Anyone who did not know the Brumbies would have thought that Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ had made his return to rugby this weekend.
The iconic head tape, the mullet, the No11 jersey, they were all there, but were rather being sported by Ben O’Donnell rather than the former Wallabies winger. He even ran down the wing in the same way the Honey Badger used to as well.
There is absolutely no way someone is kitting themselves out like that without trying to look like Cummins, and to be fair to the 27-year-old, he pulled it off. On another note, he was also the beneficiary of one of the luckiest tries of the season against the Fijian Drua on Friday at GIO Stadium.
Chasing a kick for one of his two early tries of the match, O’Donnell attempted to hack the ball forward towards the line. Rather than rolling towards the line, the ball sailed straight into the Drua player next to him, before kindly bouncing into his hands. Not exactly planned, but any winger will take it.
This was part of the Brumbies’ 43-28 win, which lifted them to the top of the Super Rugby standings.
Take a look at the try:
