VIDEO: Shockingly poor turnout in Romania Russia match
Rugby Onslaught hates being negative about rugby in up and coming countries but the turnout at the Russia Romania match in Cluj Arena, Cluj in Romania.
Normally internationals are played in Bucharest but this match was moved instead to the country’s second largest city, Cluj. It list an attendance of just 2,000, which looks generous. It was apparently a bitterly cold day in the Romanian city.
What’s more bizarre is this was more or less a must win game for Russia as the loss (we understand) has ended their chances of making the RWC2019 in Japan.
It’s also an important game for Romania who are eyeing automatic qualification as Europe 1.
