Viral video of Justin Tipuric wonder try nears one million views

It has been four days since Justin Tipuric forgot that he is a flanker and became some strange fly-half, fullback, winger hybrid with his try against Top 14 champions Montpellier in the Heineken Champions Cup.

The Wales and British & Irish Lions loose forward has gone viral this week with his try at the Liberty Stadium, and for good reason. The 33-year-old effectively pulled off a one-two with his winger Keelan Giles, starting with an audacious cross-field kick from Tipuric.

The video shared by BT Sport on Twitter has not been viewed over 900,000 times and does not look like stopping any time soon.

Take a look at the try:

The try put the Ospreys in the lead in a match that they eventually won 35-29, putting them in a strong position to qualify for the play-offs.

After the match, Ospreys head coach Toby Booth said: “We are in the entertainment business and that game certainly provided it as it went from one end to another.

“After the game over there, we knew they would come over with a point to prove but we just found a way to win.

“Cai (Evans) has grabbed his opportunity as it’s been a difficult journey for him with injuries but now he’s really thriving and fulfilling the talent he’s got.”

Montpellier boss Philippe Saint-Andre said: “We had opportunities to win but we had little success on the kicking front.

“Ospreys deserved to beat us at home and they showed a lot of commitment tonight but we gave away a couple of soft tries.

“It was a good game for the neutral but we missed too many points from our kicking game and it’s not often that you score five tries away from home and still lose.”

After facing the Top 14 champions last week, the Ospreys travel to Welford Road this weekend to play the Gallagher Premiership champions Leicester Tigers.
