Chris Ashton explains in no uncertain terms about why he left Harlequins for Worcester Warriors

Former England rugby star Chris Ashton has finally explained in full his reasoning behind why he left Harlequins for Worcester Warriors in a sudden manner.

The 33-year-old winger announced on social media recently that he would be leaving the London based club, putting an early end to yet another of the Northerner’s contracts.

One comment was made which perfectly sums up Chris Ashton of late. “The man has had more clubs than Tiger Woods”.

He, first of all, spoke about the reasons why he joined the Midlands club who are based as Sixways.

“Yeah I mean I really appreciated the honesty from the coaches when I speak to them about where the club is at and how they want to move a forward. I got a clear mindset of what they want to do there.”

He then went on to speak about how unhappy he had been in London with Harlequins. Something which we did not expect.

The northern winger will join South African Dugan Van der Merwe at the club after he joined from Edinburgh only last month.

It certainly bolsters the backline for Worcester who are struggling in the Gallagher Premiership this season.

Here is the video of him explaining his move to Worcester and why he left Harlequins.

In his prime, Ashy was one of, if not the best winger in the World. Despite his age, he can still be considered the best in the business because of his work rate on and off the ball.

We will be watching his progress very closely as he continues in the sport! Let’s see how Chris Ashton does at Worcester!
