Genius five metre tap move bamboozles eight players at once

One of the best things about rugby in the last few years is the re-emergence of tap moves from five metres out from the line. Scrums can be risky, so too lineouts (particularly with the new laws about being held up), sometimes it is smarter to let a prop sprint into the defence from five metres out. But some teams are a big more imaginative with their moves.

Take PROD2 outfit Vannes for example, they went a level beyond trying to smash their way through the defence on Friday against US Montauban by pulling off a move so cunning and devious that the defence had absolutely no idea what was happening.

The two packs were lined up in front of each other, which sounds easy to defend, but with a bit of trickery lock Joe Edwards was able to run through a gap more or less unopposed. What is even better is even better is the fact that tighthead Paga Tafili got the assist.

This was the first try in an epic 40-37 home win to Vannes, which was their first win in five league games and leaves them eighth in the league.
