Massive England blunder as training photos drop major clue to Eddie Jones’ starting XV
England Rugby may have made a grave error this week by sharing some training photos that could reveal Eddie Jones’ starting XV to face Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Photos were shared on social media of the team training this week, with some players in white bibs and some in blue. Now the interesting part is that all the players in white bibs are close to guaranteed starters: Tom Curry, Maro Itoje, Ellis Genge etc. However, Elliot Daly is also part of that group.
The Saracens back has played very little rugby this season due to injury and missed out on Eddie Jones’ initial squad. However, with further injuries to the squad to Jonny May, Tommy Freeman and a positive Covid-19 result for Joe Marchant, Daly may find himself back in the starting XV far sooner than he might have expected.
There is a danger of getting carried away with training photos like this, but this could be a hint to Gregor Townsend and Scotland before the teams are announced.
