Surely the scariest sight in rugby has been discovered

Lyon would have felt pretty good about themselves on Sunday when they were leading Heineken Champions Cup and Top 14 winners Toulouse going into the final half hour of the match.

Unfortunately for the visitors at the Stade Ernest-Wallon, they were about to witness one of the scariest sights ever seen on a rugby pitch as Toulouse decided to unload their bench. On 49 minutes, Ugo Mola decided to let no fewer than four Grand Slam winners from the week before enter the fray. These were not just any old Grand Slam winners either.

Part of that quartet was France captain, Six Nations Player of the Championship and reigning World Rugby player of the year Antoine Dupont, probably the world’s best hooker Julien Marchand, Romain Ntamack and Francois Cros, who had all started against England the weekend before in Paris.

What’s more, that still left the best loosehead in the world, Cyril Baille, on the bench, who would come on a few minutes later alongside World Cup winner Charlie Faumuina.

But it is the sight of Cros, Ntamack, Marchand and Dupont lining up on the sidelines which is truly one of the most terrifying sights in rugby. It is also unsurprising that they went on to win 29-19.
