The reason Moodie beat rivals to Bok No14 shirt
Whether they are real or fake -according to some bizarre rumours- the Springboks have a bit of an injury crisis at the moment, and have been forced into making some changes ahead of their rematch against Australia this Saturday in Sydney after their loss in Adelaide.
On the whole, the new players coming in are experienced. Everyone except uncapped 19-year-old Canan Moodie, who is set to start on the right wing. Springboks head coach Jacques Nienaber said: “This will also be a great test for Canan, who was a stand-out player for the Vodacom Bulls this season in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship. He’s a very talented player, who will enjoy this opportunity.”
For those that might not be familiar with the teenager, Andrew Forde has shared a highlights package of what is to be expected. While most wingers are renowned for their attacking prowess, it might actually be Moodie’s defence that has earned him this cap ahead of some of his South African rivals, and this video shows why.
