Tomos Williams concussion footage makes for horrible viewing
It’s always rough to watch this stuff. Wales nine Tomos Williams was badly KO’d after tackling 17.5 stone Jonathan Danty and could be seen struggling to walk.
Luckily he wasn’t let return to play, whatever the result of his HIA.
It made for uncomfortably viewing last night and could have been worse given none of the officials picked it up during play.
“While France open up the lead, Tomos Williams in a lot of trouble. Staggering all over the turf, can barely walk. Sensibly being led from field of play.”

“Don’t think there’s much need for an HIA on Tomos Williams there.”

“Terrific game last night, one that either side could have won. Very concerning to see Tomos Williams in such obvious difficulties, but pleased that – on this occasion – he was removed correctly (permanently with no HIA) and we wish him all the best in his recovery,” said Progressive Rugby.

“Interesting conversation on Tomos Williams tackle technique. I’m not sure it’s due to his lack of practice or poor technique. He’s got it wrong, clearly. But I reckon he’s more concerned with getting his mass in front of the ball carrier than he is about his head being behind.”
