VIDEO: Is Keegan Daniel South Africa’s biggest cheap shot merchant?
Rugby fans outside of South Africa may remember Keegan Daniel. He won 6 caps for the Springboks, his last coming in 2012.
After a stint in Japan, he returned to Sharks, where is currently playing in the Currie Cup. However over the last number of weeks Daniel has been dishing it out at every opportunity. Here are four examples over recent weeks where he has been pinged for a number of what could best be described as ‘cheap shots’.
The first is mild enough, and sees him drop a player with a late tackle, before offering the hand of friendship to help him up. Nothing much wrong with that, although his helping hand was rejected.

It starts to get darker though. Here he throws a forearm into the back of the head of a try scorer.

Here Daniel can be seen smashing a scrumhalf in the face at a ruck.

Here he drops an elbow again into the back of the head of a Golden Lions player at a ruck.

Oh and here’s a bonus elbow in a ruck, although the mitigating circumstances is he appears to get charged at head first.
