WATCH: Behind the scenes view of Stormers bench celebrating epic Dayimani assist

There is no better time to pull off the coolest pass of your career than the final minute of a United Rugby Championship semi-final to secure the win for your side, and Stormers flanker Hacjivah Dayimani has deservedly gone viral since Saturday for his assist for Ruhan Nel’s try.

The one-handed, behind the back offload was as classy as it gets on a rugby pitch, and it was made all the sweeter as it was the final nail in the Connacht coffin to ensure back-to-back URC finals for the Cape Town side.

The try has only been improved since then with footage of the bench reacting to the try. The sight of captain Steven Kitshoff in utter disbelief and Damian Willemse jumping up and down only make the try more impressive. This was a piece of skill that would even go viral if from a player like Willemse, let alone a loose forward.

Take a look at the bench’s reaction:

The Stormers will now face Munster in Cape Town in two week’s time after they recorded a shock victory over firm favourites and Heineken Champions Cup finalists Leinster in Dublin.

Munster head coach Graham Rowntree sent a warning to Stormers after booking their place in the final, saying: “Our game is still growing. We are finding out about people. Pete (O’Mahony) spoke really well in the dressing room about this not being our final tonight. We go to Cape Town with belief. This group won’t give in and we have come through some fires in the last few weeks. We go to Cape Town and it will be our sixth away game on the bounce, and that’s when we are finding out about people.

“We are tough and we are battle-hardened, so I was never feeling hopeless. This team won’t go away.”
