WATCH: Springbok RG Snyman makes his return for Munster
After over a year out of action, South Africa and Munster lock RG Snyman was never going to receive anything but a rapturous reception when he made his return on Friday against the Scarlets at Musgrave Park.
The World Cup winning second row has had an odd time at Munster since joining in the summer of 2020, as two horrendous ACL injuries have limited him to just a handful of minutes that whole time. But he made his return on Friday against the very same side he re-ruptured his ACL against in October 2021.
The crowd erupted on Friday when the 28-year-old replaced Jean Kleyn for the final 20 minutes of the match. Take a look:

As is expected with a player that has spent so long on the sidelines, this was not exactly a vintage performance from Snyman, although Munster did come away 49-42 winners. The most important thing for his would have been getting through the match unscathed, which he did. His focus will now be building his playing time and helping Munster in the closing stages of the season, where they sit in fifth place in the URC and travel to play the Sharks in the round of 16 in the Heineken Champions Cup.
