Outrage at Liam Williams after his disrespectful backchat to the referee
Rugby fans have been outraged at the behaviour of Wales and Scarlets full-back Liam Williams after his disrespectful backchat to a rugby referee after he was sent off in a game.
The 29-year-old British & Irish Lions star landed himself in hot water in this weekend’s match as his team lost 29-20 in this weekend’s Welsh derby.
Fans were not happy at all when they saw the footage of him using his head to clearout a ruck in the game.
The Welsh star has received a lot of flack on social media for his reckless clearout in the ruck.

It almost seems sent off Liam Williams & sin bin Rhys Carre don’t know the laws with their reckless & unnecessary actions. Former Wales captain Ryan Jones got it right when he said Carre was “stupid “ and a pro player like Liam should know better

Saw this in real time. I have no idea what Liam Williams is doing there.
SLH is on the floor and out of the game. Could be in trouble.
LW and SLH had words about 15 seconds before.

Well that is brainless from Liam Williams. No good reason to be there. This should be a red. #CBLvSCA

It is not the firt time that the Welshman has found himself on the wrong side of the law in a rugby match.
However, it was his backchat to the referee that really has incensed fans.
Directly after he was awarded a red card, the Lions full-back can be heard saying the words, “We all start playing touch is it?”

This comes directly in the wake of Kyle Sinckler landing himself in a similar situation for shouting at the referee this weekend.
This is almost an identical event to Duane Vermeulen earlier in the year in Super Rugby. The South African World Cup winner could be heard saying the words, “So we’re playing touchie now yeah”.
Surprisingly, fans actually found that funny at the time.
