Eight-cap international produces blunder of the season

Maybe it was because his side were already leading 20-0 against Brive on Saturday that Stade Francais and France No8 Sekou Macalou was able to laugh it off, but he produced one of the blunders of the season at the Stade Jean-Bouin.

The 27-year-0ld was put in for what appeared to be an easy try in the second half, where he only needed to dive over the line to score. Instead, he opted to place the ball down with one hand. To make matters even worse, he tried to place the ball down with his wrong hand. The No8 chose to place the ball down with his hand closest to the oncoming tackler Mathis Ferte, who was able to slap the ball away over the line.

Macalou was left lying there with his head in his hands before getting up and laughing. His side went on to win 27-0 to take them to second place in the Top 14 so it did not matter too much, but this was still quite a blunder nevertheless.
