South African schoolboy has right boot that Frans Steyn could only dream of
Any kicker that is easily clearing the crossbar from 55 metres out obviously has a cannon of a boot, but it becomes all the more impressive when a schoolboy is producing a kick like that.
SuperSport Rugby have shared a clip on social media this week of the recent St John’s College Easter Rugby Festival in Johannesburg, where Hoërskool Noordheuwel fly-half JT Kapank landed a monster 55 metre penalty with plenty of room to spare.
The kick sent the crowd wild as he had given his side the lead late on against Hilton College, although they eventually lost 32-30 in the end. Nevertheless, this was a mightily impressive kick.
