Tank hooker stronger over the ball than Pocock, Warburton, Curry, McCaw combined
France’s Julien Marchand may well be the best hooker on the planet at the moment, and his latest highlights reel may prove that.
The 26-year-old has not only won the Top 14 and Heineken Champions Cup double this year, but solidified the France No2 jersey ahead of Camille Chat.
A video has recently been shared of the hooker at his best, and shows what a unit he is over the ball. At 181 centimetres, the Frenchman is almost impossible to dislodge at the ruck, and puts some of the best jacklers to shame. On top of that, he is pretty powerful in the loose with a great distribution game.
Marchand made his France debut in 2018 and only has 14 caps to his name, but he is bound to add many more over the coming years and continue to be a menace at the breakdown. Even greats of the game like David Pocock and Richie McCaw could not made as much of an impact at the ruck as the Toulouse man does.
