The viral Harlequins try that created epic photo
Harlequins winger Cadan Murley is the talk of the Gallagher Premiership after his epic finish against Northampton Saints at the Stoop on Sunday.
The 23-year-old produced the try that gave Quins a 35-15 lead, which ultimately put them just out of reach of Northampton who fought back to narrowly lose 35-29. Regardless of when the try came in the match though, this was an epic finish from a natural try scorer.
After gathering the ball on the left wing with about 30 metres to run, it looked as though one of the three onrushing Saints players were going to bundle Murley into touch. Each had a go and each failed as the Quins man proved to have too much pace and strength for them. This try took him to the top of the league’s try scoring ladder alongside Ollie Hassell-Collins and George McGuigan, and has created plenty of chat about an England call-up.
Murley missed out on Eddie Jones’ training camp this week, but even his coach Tabai Matson has said that he thinks he should be in the England squad. “What a finish that was as I thought he would be cleaned out before he even got to the 22,” he said.
“There are not many finishers like him in the league and we’ve already recommended him to Eddie Jones but we haven’t heard anything back.”
Not only was this an epic try by Murley, but it also produced one of the photos of the season as well which was captured the moment he dived to score. The photo shows a train of Saints defenders looking helplessly at Murley as he scored.

On his side’s win, Matson said: “We knew it would be tough and it certainly was but it was amazing to get a victory as they butchered a few scores.
“It was a really good spectacle for the neutral but the most pleasing aspect for me was the five minutes of defence at the end as it takes a lot of discipline not to give penalties away in that situation.”
