Tongan Thor strikes again on teammate in Wallabies camp

Taniela Tupou seemed to pass the time while the Wallabies were in Japan recently by scaring his teammates, noticeably Len Ikitau in their hotel.Well his reign of terrorising his teammates does not appear to be over, as fellow prop Angus Bell proved to be his latest victim.

‘Tongan Thor’ shared his latest escapade on social media, although this one was perhaps not as subtle or calculated as the prank he played on Ikitau in Japan. On this occasion, the 25-year-old saw an opportunity on an aeroplane to punish a sleeping Bell, who was sat on the row behind him, but had rested his head on back of the seat next to him.

Take a look at what Tupou did next:

This is more proof that players need to be on guard whenever Tupou is about, otherwise they too may find themselves on social media as his latest victim.

Australia take on Scotland this Sunday in Edinburgh and Tupou is likely to play an important role in that match, as he has become a cornerstone to Dave Rennie’s Wallabies side, either starting or from the bench.

The Wallabies have been hit by some roadblocks in the build-up to their tour of the United Kingdom, with their Japan-based players Samu Kerevi, Quade Cooper and Sean McMahon all pulling out of the tour to return to their clubs. On top of that, Reece Hodge has been ruled out of the tour after picking up a pectoral injury against Japan. Veteran Kurtley Beale and youngster Noah Lolesio have been called up in their place.

Australia take on Scotland this week before fixtures with England at Twickenham and Wales at the Principality Stadium, which will bring an end to a year where they have made great progress.
