Bok whinge watch – New angle proves Willie Le Roux was 5 metres offside

The British and Irish Lions were almost the victim of daylight in today’s first test in Cape Town.

The Lions were held back in the opening 40 by some questionable refereeing decisions but fought back in the 2nd half against the odds.

This moment, early on after the break, was vital in turning the tide of the game.

We see as the inexperienced Handre Pollard throws a wild pass back into his own half before Pieter Steph du Toit regathers and shows quick pace of foot to work his way into the Lions half.

He passes it onto Am who boots it downfield for Willie Le Roux to chase.

Unfortunately for the Boks, Le Roux was about three foot in front of the kicker – but that didn’t stop the South African TMO from taking a look.

Look at this disgrace

Thankfully the Saffer TMO saw sense but the fact that it was even checked was awful.
