The BBC presenter posted a harrowing message on her social media feed this evening after the abuse from users on Twitter.
Sonja Mclaughlan interviewed Owen Farrell immediately after the heavy loss to Wales in Cardiff and made sure to ask direct questions to the England skipper.

The BBC presenter was bombarded on social media by fans who felt her line of questioning was not fair.
Here is what she tweeted to her followers earlier this evening.
Toxic, embarrassing, disgraceful, appalling. Just some of the feedback I’ve had.
Thanks for using @ sign so it’s all hit home.
Now imagine getting inundated with abuse for doing your job.
In my car crying. Hope you’re happy

Sonja McLaughlan’s post game questions are delivered absolutely disgracefully

I try not to be personal about these things, but Sonja’s interview technique has been appalling for years – and that was the worst yet. Admirable self restraint from the England captain not to rise to repeated, tabloid-style baiting masquerading as ‘asking the tough questions.’
